Part-time Kayak Guide

Kayak guides start at a MINIMUM $25/HOUR PLUS TIPS! Very regularly Kayak Guides earn $40 to $50/hour while on tour including tips! AND IT'S A FUN JOB!

Kayak Hilton Head is currently hiring for the spring and summer season. If you are looking for a part-time job and have prior guiding experience we have shifts such as Saturday mornings and/or afternoons available that we are hiring for now. We also have some part-time shifts starting within the next couple of weeks for weekday mornings and/or afternoons. Now is the time to apply for those shifts as well. If you have prior guiding experience training will likely be minimal. If you don't have prior guiding experience but have lived in the area for a few years and are fairly knowledgable about Hilton Head's activities and restuarants which the visitors like to as questions about we can teach you the information on dolphins and the other wildlife that is part of the training. If you regularly spend your own time around the water kayaking, fishing, or just enjoying being outdoors you can make money doing the things you love. We generally have a very happy staff as we do our best to make employment with us laid back and fun and the guides report making very good tip money along with good hourly pay.

If you will be living on Hilton Head for the 2025 summer season or live close by the bridge just into Bluffton, we are pretty sure you enjoy working with us. Over the years I can't remember a staff member ever leaving us to go work for another similar company but we have hired many new employees over the years that have left other similar jobs after friends have told them about the fun and relaxed atmosphere here at Kayak Hilton Head. If your an experienced guide that just needs a change of scenery it's worth inquiring with us. Kayak Guide training really is alot about just being in a kayak and enjoying yourself while learning our kayaking routes and learning about the dolphins and other wildlife so that you can lead tours.

Most of our staff has been with us for many years. We have a good number of employees that have been with us 10 plus years because money is good, we offer flexible scheduling and we provide a fun work atmosphere! We are looking for part time employees that have a flexible schedule. Come to work on-time, have a smile on your face and positive attitude and you will fit right in with the rest of the staff. If you have past guiding experience but are really only looking to do a tour or two per week we may still have a spot for you.

Kayak guides often have food and beverage jobs at night and work for us part time in the mornings or have day jobs and do a few tours for us in the evenings or weekends.

It is best that you live on Hilton Head or relatively close to the bridge. This job really doesn't work out well if you live too far from Hilton Head because there are some on-call aspects to the job and being close by makes this much easier and more relaxing.

I've hired a guide that just moved back to Hilton Head after working as a fly fishing guide in one of my favorite states out west. We've hired many teachers over the years. Just give us a quick bit about yourself to catch our attention. An outdoorsy person that is outgoing and has been on Hilton Head long enough to be able to freely chat with our guests about your favorite restaurants, beaches or even other fun stuff to do while they are visiting can often quickly learn the nature tour and kayaking aspects to the job. Definitely specify if you currently live on Hilton Head as again the whole process seems easier (not absolutely necessary though) if you do live on the island or very close to it. (Sorry if you live much further away than Bluffton this usually does not work out.)
