We are currently looking for a Assistant Project Manager/PE (Commercial) to work with a large state agency with consultant procurement on various projects. This position is based out of the Middletown, NY office.
Position Scope
The Project Engineer will work with staff on project control activities including project document management, RFI and IB tracking, contract document review, pre award meetings, schedules, monitoring of building construction, repair, and rehabilitation projects from planning stages through the completion of construction. The PE will assure that proposals meet client needs, are within cost limitations, and project elements are completed per schedule. This PE needs to be self-sufficient and proficient in reading contract documents, able to read, understand, check for compliance and process RFI’s, submittals, change orders and daily correspondences.
Daily Tasks
Allocate resources for assigned projects
Assist with Inspections
Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and client
Communicate and follow up with contractors about specific projects and their goals
Communicate with site superintendents about delays and any other issues that must be communicated to clients
Responsible for cost estimating, project scheduling, resource management (including labor, material, and equipment scheduling), construction document reading, and interpretation
RFI Tracking, Contract Document review, Review Payments, Submittals, and Change Orders
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering
Minimum of 8 years of experience in Commercial construction
Minimum of 4 years as a Project Engineer, experience in public or private proposals, compliance, and construction
Minimum of 4 year experience in public commercial construction on College, Medical, or Prison facilities
Shall possess, at a minimum, 8 years of experience on larger projects valued above $10 million
Understanding of all facets of the construction process
Understanding of electrical and audio visual installations
Familiarity with scheduling software (Primavera P6) is preferred
OSHA 30
Microsoft Office Experience
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent leadership skills
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely; both verbally and in writing
Familiarity with Project Management Information Systems (Microsoft Project, Procure, etc)

Pay: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
