What Will You Be Doing?
The Corporate Communications Manager supports the Sr Director, Corporate Communications, and works across the full scope of departmental functions and responsibilities, including media relations, reputation management, crisis response, brand promotion, event planning and internal communications. The Corporate Communications Manager exercises leadership to implement the diverse programs developed by the department to advance the company’s mission and achieve its goals for external and internal audiences. This position has a primary emphasis on external communications.
Essential Functions
- Work with the Sr Director, Corporate Communications, and team members across the enterprise to implement strategies, policies, and programs to support the Corporate Communications department.
- Collaborate in the development and implementation of public relations, reputation management and other programs to strengthen the Frontier brand and support the company´s business goals.
- Demonstrate excellent copywriting and editing skills that incorporate AP journalism style, along with strong proof-reading, to ensure all communications are professionally written and error free.
- Respond to media inquiries and act as a company spokesperson, with the ability to be on call 24/7.
- Actively engage with media to foster positive relationships. Maintain the company’s media contact lists and oversee distribution of press releases.
- Lead the organization of media events tied to route announcements and other significant company news; prepare executive remarks; key messaging; reactive Q&A’s, etc.
- Act as a company representative/spokesperson at media events, delivering remarks and conducting interviews
- Draft and distribute press releases tied to route announcements, new service inaugurals, marketing programs and other company news.
- Coordinate the distribution of company news and announcements with the Social Media team.
- Support the Corporate Communications department in all aspects of issues management as well as crisis preparedness and response.
- Support the Corporate Communications department in cultivating positive relationships with airports, tourism bureaus, community leaders and partner organizations.
- Monitor traditional and non-traditional media outlets, as well as social media, for coverage on the company and broader industry, immediately flagging matters requiring attention.
- Support the Internal Communications Manager, as needed, in employee communications, newsletter articles, message distribution and posting to the Intranet.
- Support the Sr Director in planning and managing the department’s budget as well as day-to-day administrative tasks.
- Take an enterprise-wide approach to building working relationships that will help Corporate Communications and all departments achieve the company’s objectives.
Qualifications
- Five or more years of corporate communications, public relations and/or media relations experience, preferably for large, geographically dispersed, consumer-facing organizations
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or related field preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated experience in writing news releases and articles in journalism/AP format
- Demonstrated experience in writing effective executive speeches, talking points and organizational communications
- Demonstrated experience acting as a company spokesperson/media relations professional, speaking on camera, working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
- Demonstrated experience in event organization
- Exceptional at project organization, planning, tracking and follow-through
- Strongly self-motivated individual who thinks and performs proactively
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint and Excel. Basic graphic design and video skills a plus
- Strong familiarity with social media platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and others
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needs may require given the 24/7 nature of the company’s business

Salary Range: $72,000 – $105,000
