Position Details:

- Job Title: Histology Technician I, II, III
- Location: Salem Pathology Lab
- Typical Schedule: Varied Mondays – Fridays, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Qualifications:
- Histotechnician training available! HS Diploma or GED, and 3 months related healthcare experience or trade school equivalent
- Preferred: Experience as a Histotech or HT (ASCP) eligible
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science
Some duties include:
- Accession specimens for grossing
- Gross examination and dissection of skin specimen for tissue processing
- Prepare skin tissue specimens for microscopic examination
- Process and embed samples
- Section paraffin-embedded samples
- Prepare reagents, solutions, control slides, and special stains
- Accurately label tissue samples and slides
- Other duties as assigned, including performing routine maintenance and cleaning, filing slides and blocks
- Our lab must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment while adhering to OSHA/CLIA requirements
- Our histotechnicians/histotechnologists must have the ability to work efficiently with other team members to meet daily processing deadlines, be highly organized, and extremely detail oriented. See our mission below!
