Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled IT Generalist to join our dynamic team. This role requires a proactive individual who can effectively troubleshoot software and hardware issues while providing exceptional support to our users. You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our IT infrastructure and ensuring seamless operations across all platforms.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, addressing issues related to hardware, software, and operating systems.
- Manage and maintain Windows and Linux operating systems, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Administer VPN connections and troubleshoot connectivity issues for remote users.
- Perform routine maintenance on Windows Server environments, including updates and backups.
- Monitor and configure firewalls to ensure network security and integrity.
- Conduct software troubleshooting to resolve application-related problems efficiently.
- Assist in network administration tasks, including managing user accounts and permissions.
- Document technical processes and create user guides for common issues encountered by staff.
Experience
- Proven experience in a help desk or technical support role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems; familiarity with Linux is a plus.
- Experience with VPN technologies and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
- Understanding of firewall configurations and network security principles.
- nstalling, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP.
- Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
- Setting up VPNs
- O365 Admin Experience
- Active Directory Admin Experience
- Arranging scheduled upgrades
- Investigating faults in the network
- Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
- Configure and manage hardware, facilitated IP voice administrations, and firewalls
- Perform account setup for new and old employees
- Available on-call to assist with trouble tickets as needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Proficient in software troubleshooting across various applications.
- Familiarity with Windows Server management is beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
