Job Summary: The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling mechanical components such as motors and pumps and systems according to engineering specifications and drawings. Pumps have seals, bearings, and require use of feeler gauges and dial indicators. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions precisely. The Mechanical Assembler plays a critical role in ensuring that products are assembled correctly and meet quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assembly Operations:
- Assemble mechanical components and systems using hand tools, power tools, and other assembly equipment.
- Interpret and follow assembly instructions to complete tasks accurately.
- Fit and align parts according to specifications, ensuring proper function and adherence to tolerances.
Quality Control:
- Inspect and test completed assemblies to ensure they meet quality and performance standards.
- Identify and report any defects, inconsistencies, or issues during the assembly process.
- Make necessary adjustments or repairs to ensure that products meet specifications.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including assembly steps, materials used, and any deviations from standard procedures.
- Complete required documentation for quality control and compliance purposes.
- Report on the progress of assembly tasks to supervisors or production managers.
Tool and Equipment Maintenance:
- Maintain and clean tools and equipment used in the assembly process.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure that tools and materials are stored properly and kept in good working condition.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with other assemblers, engineers, and production staff to ensure efficient workflow and address any assembly issues.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and improvements.
- Provide feedback on assembly processes and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns to the safety officer or supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a mechanical assembler or in a similar role in a manufacturing environment (IDEAL AEROSPACE OR AUTOMOTIVE).
- Ability to read and interpret diagrams, and technical documents.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and organization.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and principles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, and move around for extended periods.
- Good vision and hand-eye coordination for precise assembly work.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, tools, and potential safety hazards.
- May involve exposure to noise, dust, and other elements associated with assembly work.
Salary : $18 - $39
