Frost Brown Todd LLP , a national law firm with 1000 legal and business professionals across eighteen offices, is currently searching for a full-time Project Assistant to join our Dallas office. This role will assist our Real Estate Litigation attorneys in representing condemning authorities and landowners throughout Texas to either acquire private property through eminent domain for various public purposes or defend individual landowners with government acquisition of private property for infrastructure needs. This position consists of non-billable administrative tasks as well as billable work.
Key Responsibilities :
- Edit and proofread legal documents.
- Assist in the preparation of form documents.
- Maintain checklists and spreadsheets for the condemnation team.
- Draft and format legal correspondence.
- Track case progress throughout the condemnation timeline, ensure delivery of statutorily required mailings, and coordinate and schedule hearing dates, including Special Commissioners’ Hearings.
- Assist in document productions, including compiling, bates labeling, redacting as necessary, and serving same.
- Create and maintain electronic and paper client files and indexes for real estate litigation professionals, including routine filing.
- Perform general office and administrative duties such as collating and assembling documents, accepting and delivering correspondence, photocopying, scanning, and faxing.
- Conduct internet research to support litigation and case preparation.
- Update correspondence files, create and maintain pleading boards, prepare witness notebooks and binders, assemble trial exhibits, and organize records chronologically for hearings, trials and depositions.
- Assist in preparing for depositions, hearings, and trials.
