As the Animal Welfare Auditor Supervisor, you will play a key role in assisting in overseeing and supporting the animal welfare auditing team, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and ethical guidelines. You will assist in training and developing auditors, conducting audits, and implementing continuous improvement strategies.

- Assist the Director in supervising and support the animal welfare auditing team including input on or managing scheduling, ensuring consistency and quality in audit processes and reports.
- Conduct and oversee audits of animal welfare practices, facilities, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and ethical standards.
- Train and mentor auditors to achieve and maintain PAACO certification and develop their auditing expertise.
- Develop and implement standardized auditing protocols, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with industry best practices.
- Assist in designing and delivering animal welfare training programs for internal auditors and external stakeholders.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional auditing standards in all aspects of the role.
- Manage scheduling of audits, coordinating with clients and auditors to ensure timely and efficient execution.
- Ensure that audit reports meet required deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy and detail.
- Collaborate with clients, producers, and industry partners to address audit findings and recommend corrective actions.
- Stay informed of updates in animal welfare legislation and industry guidelines, ensuring audit procedures remain current and compliant.
- Review auditor performance and provide regular feedback to maintain high standards of work.
- Assist in developing new audit programs, policies, and procedures to improve auditing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Monitor and manage auditor travel schedules, ensuring cost-effective and well-planned trips.
- Represent the company at industry conferences and events, contributing to discussions on animal welfare best practices.
- Support business development by identifying new clients, scheduling engagements, and maintaining positive relationships with existing clients.
- Work independently while maintaining effective communication with management and the auditing team.
- Bachelor’s degree in animal science, animal welfare, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in animal welfare auditing or related industry experience.
- PAACO certification in at least two species (poultry, swine, etc.) or willingness to obtain certification.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with experience managing a team.
- Knowledge of livestock audit tools, auditing procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in computer systems used for audit reporting and data analysis.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Transport Quality Assurance (TQA) and Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) certification preferred.
- Ability to travel frequently, including weekends and international locations, as required.
