The Superintendent of Schools announces the following positions to support students in the Extended School Year (ESY) program this summer.
Adaptive Physical Education Teacher
Extended School Year Program
DATES: 07/07/2025-08/01/2025
HOURS: 8:30 am to 12:30 pm = 4 hours per day
4 days per week Monday thru Thursday
TITLE: Adaptive Physical Education Teacher
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Physical Education MA DESE Physical Education License required Experience working with children with disabilities
- At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred
REPORTS TO: Site Coordinator/Program Director
SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES:These responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Develops and leads developmentally appropriate physical activities for all students. Appropriate activities include adaptations to physical activities, games, sports or exercise programs for both individual and group participation.
- Ability to adapt common physical activities, sports or exercises to suit a wide range of age groups and physical abilities
- Focus on learning the individual needs of each student and catering activities to support their physical development while creating a safe environment
- Perform other appropriate duties at the direction of Site Coordinator/Program Director
- Strong communication skills
- Team player
- Good attendance
- Be organized and able to multi-task
SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Hourly rate in accordance with FRPS Educators’ Association Contract
