About the Role : We are looking for a skilled Project Manager to oversee the design, planning, and execution of construction projects for utility energy storage systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities :
Planning :
Manage the overall design of the project, coordinating both external and internal engineering resources.
Develop and manage the project plan, host site kick-off meetings with the construction manager, and conduct close-out meetings.
Ensure the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) team issues daily Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Plans of the Day.
Monitor the EPC schedule and assist with recovery plans as needed.
Handle design RFIs (Requests for Information) in coordination with internal and external engineering resources.
Engage proactively with landowners to meet their expectations.
Safety Accountabilities :
Lead by example to prioritize safety, ensuring all employees follow safe practices.
Reinforce safe behaviors and correct at-risk behaviors.
Ensure JHAs are conducted before work commences.
Adhere to and ensure all site team members understand standard operating procedures.
Ensure new hires receive job- and task-specific training before starting work.
Lead and support the site team in technical, quality, and safety matters, utilizing existing systems.
EPC Relationship Management :
Deliver excellence in project management and execution, aligning with company expectations.
Strengthen and maintain the relationship with the EPC team.
Budget :
Manage the project budget, track costs to date, forecast costs to completion, and oversee procurement and materials management.
Contract :
Ensure the EPC team follows the contract and review change orders.
Manage field purchases of project-related materials and equipment as required.
Maintain a full understanding of all contractual obligations and document variances.
Ensure the terms of the main EPC contract are passed on to subcontracts.
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Familiarity with project management processes, including budgeting, contract negotiations, change order negotiations, and scheduling (including the use of scheduling software). PMP certification is a plus.
Knowledge of construction safety (OSHA 30 training certificate is a plus).
Minimum of 5 years of construction experience, including on-site experience.
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a construction leadership role.
Valid driver's license and eligibility for corporate vehicle insurance coverage.
Ability to obtain a valid passport for travel outside the U.S.
