What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Team Lead position at FTI?

This position is responsible for leading and performing engineering tasks for construction and product development/manufacturing projects, under the direct supervision of the Engineering Manager or Vice President. Collaborates with operations and other members of the preconstruction or premanufacturing department to deliver design-build and design-assist services. This position typically has direct supervision of between three to seven engineering support staff, provides day-to-day work direction, and conducts formal performance evaluations.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; relevant disciplines include Electrical, Architectural, Mechanical, Process, Civil, Structural, Energy and Automation.
Experience: 7 years of progressive engineering related experience
or
Education: Associate Degree in Technology; relevant disciplines include Electrical, Architectural, Mechanical, Process, Civil, Structural, Energy and Automation.
Experience: 11 years of progressive engineering related experience
or
Any combination of education and experience deemed appropriate by leadership.
Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) License is preferred
Travel: 5-10%
Work Schedule: Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday;
However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Participates in Customer / Project Interviews: Leads the Engineering portion.
- Leads and directs project design and CAD effort on projects.
- Prepares proposals and cost estimates for Engineering related services.
- Provides guidance to ensure that construction and product/manufacturing activities comply with specification, codes, and customer requirements.
- Provides leadership and guidance to Engineering and Design staff.
- Performs detailed calculations to compute and establish construction and product/manufacturing standards and specifications.
- Prepares and studies technical drawing, and specifications to ensure that installations and designs conform to standards and customer requirements.
- Conducts field surveys and studies diagram and other data to identify and correct system problems.
- Confers with internal and external customers to discuss existing or potential construction and product/manufacturing projects.
- Inspects completed installations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications.
- Operates computer aided drafting tools, modeling and design software to perform engineering tasks.
- Compiles data and writes reports regarding existing and potential engineering studies and projects.
- Actively participates in Faith’s hiring referral and mentoring program.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
