Responsibilities for Controller:
- Accounting Policies & Procedures: Develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations.
- Budget & Expense Management: Monitor budgets, track spending, and implement strategies for effective cost control.
- Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow and ensure adequate balances are maintained in checking accounts.
- Financial Data Entry: Accurately record financial transactions and maintain up-to-date financial records.
- Bank Reconciliation: Record deposits, reconcile bank statements, and manage loan interest payments.
- Intercompany Transactions: Manage intercompany financial transactions, ensuring precision and timely execution.
- Payroll Support: Understand payroll systems and assist with payroll-related functions.
- Tax Filing & Compliance: Ensure weekly tax filings, manage quarterly tax submissions, and handle 1099s, W2s, and W3s.
- Audit Support: Assist with preparations for financial audits, ensuring all necessary documents are organized and accurate.
- Insurance & Claims Management: Oversee insurance renewals for general liability, auto, and workers' compensation. Process PFL claims and employee injury reports when needed.
- Employee Administration: Enter new employee data into the system and maintain health insurance records.
- Accounts Receivable Management: Supervise accounts receivable, ensuring timely collections and accurate record-keeping.
- Project Completion: Close out completed projects, ensuring all financial aspects are finalized.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the construction or real estate industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience with payroll processing and benefits administration.
- Familiarity with intercompany transactions and project-based accounting.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
