IT Support Technician (2nd Shift)
Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (2nd Shift)
Position Overview:
The IT Support Technician is responsible for providing both onsite and remote IT support to end-users across various locations. This role will include troubleshooting and resolving issues related to hardware, software, printers, servers, and network support in both office and manufacturing environments. The technician will perform tasks within established timeframes and will be expected to follow standard operating procedures while maintaining confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acquire, install, and maintain hardware and software technology.
- Provide first-level support for user requests and incident tickets, both onsite and remotely. Escalate to higher levels of support as necessary.
- Manage spares and asset inventory through the inventory management tool.
- Train end-users and communicate corporate IT initiatives, best practices, and relevant IT-related topics.
- Participate in plant IT-related activities across office and manufacturing systems.
- Propose and implement solutions to address routine IT issues.
- Support new hires by introducing them to hardware, software, and IT policies.
- Follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
- Maintain and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Take initiative in identifying and proposing remedies for IT issues.
- Provide periodic status reports in both written and verbal formats.
Education Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in an IT-related field preferred, or a High School diploma with equivalent years of experience in a similar role.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft) are a plus.
Required Experience:
- 3 years’ experience in an IT support role, working directly with end-users.
- 3 years’ experience with computer hardware and software, including installation and maintenance.
- Advanced knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience working with computer networks.
Desired Skills:
- General knowledge of mobile technology.
- Experience with IT ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow).
- Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to handle changing priorities effectively with excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
- In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software, printers, and peripheral equipment.
- High-level knowledge of LAN/WAN equipment and topology.
- Must be a self-starter, capable of working independently and motivating others in a team environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
