Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Operations Manager to join our team. This role will oversee the day-to-day operations of our homebuilding projects, ensuring that all activities are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget. The Operations Manager will play a key role in streamlining processes, managing resources, and driving continuous improvement across various teams to ensure the successful completion of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all operational aspects of the homebuilding projects from planning to completion, ensuring projects meet quality standards and timelines.
- Coordinate and collaborate with project managers, construction teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.
- Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost control measures are in place to meet financial goals.
- Review project schedules, manage timelines, and adjust project plans as needed to ensure deadlines are met.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Manage and improve relationships with external vendors, contractors, and clients.
- Resolve operational issues and challenges that arise during the construction process.
- Maintain an organized system for tracking project progress, including inventory management, permits, and documentation.
- Train and mentor staff on operational processes, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Prepare regular operational reports for upper management, identifying potential risks and areas for improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement in project management, construction processes, and operational workflows.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- 5 years of experience in operations management within the homebuilding or construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of homebuilding processes, including budgeting, scheduling, and quality control.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a diverse team.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project).
- Solid understanding of local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Ability to make decisions under pressure, manage complex projects, and solve problems effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent.
- Experience with residential or commercial construction projects.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time, Monday through Friday (with occasional weekend work based on project needs).
- Ability to travel to job sites as required.
- Work in both office and field settings.
