What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Specialist position at FTS Inc?
Daily Accounting & Administrative Tasks:
- Process bill payments and ensure office supplies are stocked.
- Assist with accounting functions such as balance sheet management, financial statements, and tax preparation (in collaboration with CPAs).
- Verify vendors have proper insurance documentation.
Budget & Financial Management:
- Support general company budget management (job costing budgets are handled by purchasing managers).
- Assist in financial tracking and reporting to ensure company efficiency.
Software & System Management:
- Work with QuickBooks Desktop (transitioning to QuickBooks Online—experience with either is a plus).
- Utilize Builder Trend for project management and scheduling.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of QuickBooks (Desktop or Online).
- Experience in the homebuilding/construction industry is a plus but not required.
- Highly organized, proactive, and a self-starter with a strong work ethic.
