Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced controller to manage financial operations and lead the team overseeing a key subsidiary. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, in compliance with relevant accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and maintain necessary records for statutory and operational needs.
- Oversee the month-end close process to ensure timely completion.
- Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of continuous development and knowledge sharing.
- Set clear performance goals, conduct regular evaluations, and encourage open communication within the team.
- Provide financial data and analysis to senior leadership and other key stakeholders.
- Review and guide monthly journal entries, addressing any unusual entries or discrepancies.
- Analyze budget vs. forecast variances to assess business performance.
- Develop and implement standard work processes, applying continuous improvement principles to enhance quality.
- Assist in preparing audit schedules, including overseeing the annual inventory observation process for external audits.
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Prepare ad-hoc and pro forma financial reports for business leadership as needed.
- Support senior finance leaders in developing strategic plans, departmental goals, and KPIs, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- At least eight years of professional experience, including a minimum of three years in a management role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards, including US GAAP, SOX, IAS, and IFRS.
- CPA certification is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and computer skills.
- Strong communication and listening abilities.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
