What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Manager position at FTS Inc?
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance team, ensuring that maintenance staff has the proper training and equipment, and coordinating purchasing of necessary equipment and project materials.
Responsibilities:
- Develop (and receive from others), prioritize, assign, and track maintenance work orders.
- Oversee maintenance procedures, processes, and timeliness of maintenance work.
- Work as part of the engineering team on projects.
- Coordinate purchasing of parts and equipment, update vendors, and track inventory and equipment.
- Supervise maintenance personnel.
- Ensure clear expectations are set for all maintenance team members, and that all are receiving timely,
balanced feedback informally, and through the Performance Builder review process.
- Ensure that all employees have the necessary training.
- Manage and participate in projects.
- Develop and maintain a Preventative Maintenance (PM) program for equipment.
- Provide feedback on training programs and looks for ways to improve practices, including follow-
ups with newly trained employees.
- Maintain two-way communication with management and team members to share knowledge and
ideas.
- Ensure organization of maintenance areas.
- Play a key role in the farm safety program.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- The Maintenance Manager needs to be highly organized, possess computer skills (specifically uses outlook tasks, excel, word, also learns AEI, PMS, and REF systems), have the ability to efficiently plan and schedule work flow, and exhibits excellent people management skills.
- The Maintenance Manager will need to effectively communicate with the Partners on projects, while overseeing staff progress.
- The Maintenance Manager must be even tempered, yet convey a sense of urgency when the situation demands.
- The Maintenance Manager must be a team player and actively work alongside staff to complete workload.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in maintenance.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
