Opto-mechanical Lab Technician
Summary
The ideal candidate will have experience in optical system evaluation and measurement techniques. Products are used in aerospace, defense, and media applications.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement testing methodologies for evaluating the performance of optical imaging systems, including resolution, distortion, aberrations, and alignment.
- Design and configure test setups for optical systems, including metrology equipment, interferometers, and other diagnostic tools.
- Prepare detailed technical reports
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of optical testing methods, including interferometry, MTF testing, and image quality assessments.
- Experience in developing and conducting experiments to characterize optical performance and troubleshoot system issues.
- Ability to analyze test data and inspection reports for optical substrates and coatings, perform tolerance analyses, and recommend design changes to optimize performance.
- Familiarity with geometric and physical optics, and an understanding of optical aberrations and their correction.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with the assembly and alignment of optical systems in a lab or production environment.
- Knowledge of precision optical metrology equipment and experience with optical testing hardware.
- Proficiency in optical design software (CodeV or Zemax) for both design and performance analysis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline
- 3 years of experience working in lab settings.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US. This role can not support sponsorship.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $35.00 - $42.50 per hour
