Position Summary:
Install, configure, and support The Company’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or a segment of a network system. Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and may perform necessary maintenance to support network availability. May monitor and test Web site performance to ensure Web sites operate correctly and without interruption. May assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software. May administer network security measures.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary.
- Configure, monitor, and maintain email applications or virus protection software.
- Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use.
- Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems.
- Oversee the daily performance of computer systems.
- Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
- Develop training materials and procedures, or train users in the proper use of hardware or software.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Associates Degree
- 1-year computer related experience, 3 years preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication
Physical Demands:
- Occasional evening and weekend duties, ability to multitask and handle crisis situations in a calm and effective manner.
- Sitting for long periods of time.
- Minor lifting of product.
- Occasional climbing, crouching, kneeling.
Work Environment:
The working conditions of this position reflect those of a standard office environment to include:
- Working in close proximity to others
- Working indoors
- Low to moderate noise levels
- Occasional high noise if working within the warehouse
Travel:
- Company Site Visits – 50%
