We are hiring for a new position of Director of Marketing D2C e-commerce reports directly to the Director of Marketing, Photofinishing. This position and will lead the marketing efforts to drive awareness of and revenue for Fujifilm’s D2C ecommerce platform. The Director of Marketing (D2C e-commerce) will manage a team of approximately 10 people (3-4 directs, the remainder indirects) and work very closely with cross functional team members to ensure successful strategy building and execution of all campaigns.

We are looking for a hands-on, entrepreneurial, pragmatic leader, capable of delivering results in a traditional corporate environment and who understands the basic principles of content, site merchandising, site optimization, catalog creation & production, product strategy, direct and digital acquisition and retention marketing.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • This role will be responsible for hiring and managing approx. 10 marketing staff members that will be dedicated to Fujifilm’s D2C e-commerce business
  • Top line sales P&L responsibility for a ecommerce business
  • Develops ecommerce and digital marketing strategies, plans and programs to drive business growth objectives, help develop merchandising, marketing & creative strategies to grow revenue & profitability
  • Owns the overall customer experience for web including web site optimization, site merchandising, promotions and 3rd party marketing
  • Work closely with the D2C e-commerce business team to align marketing efforts with overall business objectives, defining, tracking and optimizing against marketing KPIs consistent with our financial targets
  • Manages marketing budget, allocates resources effectively, and measures the ROI of marketing initiatives
  • Develops and implements integrated marketing strategies and execution plans, both annual and up to 5 years, aligned with business goals and growth objectives
  • Leads strategic planning sessions with global, internal, and external stakeholders
  • Develops and documents processes for global marketing collaboration
  • Partners with the Research Manager to analyze the competitive landscape to stay current with similar products or services on the market, pinpoint trends, opportunities, and plans for business optimization and growth
  • Works closely with Digital Marketing, MarTech and Merchandising cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of marketing campaigns
  • Works closely with the software and MarTech team on ecommerce features and improvements needed to support marketing initiatives and drive revenue growth
  • Contributes to marketing effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; and implementing directives
  • Builds and maintains a strong brand identity and positioning within the retail photo space
  • Directs and maintains brand guidelines to ensure how we look, sound and feel is documented, accurate, comprehensive, and accessible for those bringing it to life
  • Oversee Product marketing team that will manage the product assortment for our online store to grow revenue
  • Work closely with the merchandising, marketing, and creative team members to align on assortment launches, promotional calendars, mark downs, and pricing strategies.
  • Collaborates with product development teams to create compelling value propositions and go-to-market strategies
  • Develops product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market plans to ensure successful product launches and adoption. Ensures consistent messaging across all marketing channels and materials
  • Will be crucial in strategizing product selections and driving profitability by aligning the online product assortment with customer demand
  • Collaborate with the broader ecommerce team to understand sales trends, product performance, and upcoming campaigns to inform upcoming ecommerce product assortments
  • Collaborate with the broader ecommerce team to gather insights on top-performing products, customer feedback, and areas of opportunity for growth
  • Oversees the management of vendors and agencies, including budgets, RFPs, legal contracts and overall performance; this may be done by the individual or by a staff members.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Builds the marketing team by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training supervisory and management staff in the department, both internal and 3 rd party
  • Develops the team by providing information, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities
  • Maintains team’s job results by counseling and mentoring employees, and planning, monitoring, and appraising job results

Required Skills/Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or certification in marketing, design or related quantitative disciplines; MBA preferred
  • 10 years work experience in a fast paced and highly competitive marketing environment in a manager capacity
  • 3 years of experience in purchasing, buying, or merchandising, preferably in an ecommerce environment.
  • Successful track record in senior marketing D2C e-commerce role
  • Experience building and managing teams of 7
  • Demonstrated leadership of a staff, across diverse functions and tasks. Seasoned managerial skills; ability to develop and grow staff and drive excellence in team dynamics
  • Experience in working collaboratively within the ecommerce business as well as cross department, cross channel, cross company and externally to educate, influence and successfully launch digital and omni-channel programs.
  • Demonstrated ability for developing multi-year and annual strategic plans that include assumptions and forecasts.
  • Strong online merchandising experience: ability to best present and continually optimize a product assortment online to generate desire and foster sales.
  • Experience in and comfort/confidence for presenting to Senior Leadership
  • Mastery of project management, including the ability to prioritize work, delegate workload and manage the demands of fast-paced projects tight deadlines.
  • Experience and comfort level with managing creative designers or agencies
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce trends, analytics, and customer preferences
  • Demonstrable experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or digital advertising campaigns
  • Experience in optimizing landing pages and user funnels
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills at the strategic and tactical levels. Utilizes data to make decisions. Strong data acumen. Hands on experience gathering data and insights through various analytics tools including Google Analytics. Strength using Microsoft Excel or similar.
  • Working knowledge of ad serving tools
  • Proven ability to plan and manage budgets
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good understanding of graphic/image file formats and specifications

Desired Skills

  • Experience with photo or related personalized products in an e-commerce or brick and mortar retail environment
  • Experience with Digital Asset Management and/or Product Information Management Enterprise systems
  • Experience with implementing and/or using MarTech tools

Salary and Benefits: (Include for roles that are/can be based in NY and CO)
