Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist will support the HR Director with administrative functions, ensure employee records are accurate and comply with regulatory standards, manage recordkeeping for programs such as FMLA and Workers' Compensation, offer guidance on HR policies and their interpretation, and actively participate in the recruitment and hiring process.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintains employee records, ensuring completion and accuracy of details, building the file while meeting industry requirements.
- Manage FMLA/Leave of Absence applications and issue status notices.
- Oversee general attendance tracking, including issuing policy reminders.
- Assist in employee relations and guides supervisors with policy and interpretation including disciplinary processes.
- Collaborate in managing workers’ compensation program and unemployment claims response.
- Participate in the recruitment efforts including sourcing, scheduling and offering employment.
- Conduct annual HR audits to include I-9 and HR file.
- Shared responsibilities with the new hire orientation process including processing pre-hire and post hire requirements.
- Participate with annual open enrollment.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred, or equivalent professional experience is required.
- Experience in Human resources preferably in a multi-site environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices with HR compliance.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- SHRM-CP preferred.
