ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Client Consultation: Discuss client needs and preferences. Recommend appropriate beauty treatments and products.
- Hair Services: Cut, trim, style, color, highlight, and chemically treat hair. Perform hair treatments like deep conditioning and keratin treatments.
- Skincare Services: Provide facials, peels, and other skincare treatments. Perform hair removal services, such as waxing and threading. Offer advice on skincare routines and products.
- Nail Services: Manicure and pedicure treatments. Apply nail polish, acrylics, and other nail enhancements. Maintain nail hygiene and health.
- Makeup Services: Apply makeup for various occasions, such as weddings or photoshoots. Provide makeup tutorials and tips.
- Sanitation and Safety: Maintain a clean and organized work area. Sterilize tools and equipment. Follow health and safety regulations.
- Product Sales: Recommend and sell beauty products to clients. Stay updated on the latest beauty trends and products.
- Regular and reliable attendance is a fundamental requirement of this position. Employees are expected to be punctual and consistently present during their scheduled work hours to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the business.
- Performs other duties, including special projects, as needed or requested.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Demonstrated experience working in a spa or salon. Demonstrated experience performing within specific deadlines or under pressure.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school or the equivalent in education or experience. Completion of a state-approved cosmetology program. Preferred one (1) or more years of recent and related salon or spa experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Demonstrated effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills using English.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must hold a valid cosmetology license as required by the state.
OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. Proficiency in various beauty techniques and treatments. Creativity and an eye for detail.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Essential duties involve performing physical exertion such as frequent brisk walking, climbing stairs, stooping, bending, stretching, reaching, pushing, kneeling, squatting, crouching, and standing for an entire work shift with standard breaks. Essential duties may require lifting up to 30 pounds to stack, store, or move spa, salon, or general office supplies and equipment. Essential duties require manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
$28.00 hour based on experience gratuities service commission sales commission
