ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Employee Counseling & Advice: Provide guidance on performance management, disciplinary actions, workplace conflicts, policy interpretation, and employee rights.
- Conflict Resolution: Facilitate dispute resolution through mediation, coaching, and fostering constructive dialogue.
- Investigations: Conduct impartial investigations into complaints related to harassment, discrimination, misconduct, or policy violations, documenting findings and outcomes.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal and state employment laws, staying updated on legal changes.
- Manager Support & Training: Coach and train managers on effective employee relations practices, including progressive discipline and performance management.
- Performance Management: Support managers in addressing performance concerns through improvement plans and documentation.
- Exit Interviews: Conduct exit interviews to gather feedback and identify improvement opportunities.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Monitor employee relations trends and provide actionable insights to HR leadership.
- Policy Development & Compliance: Work with company leadership to ensure employee relations practices are aligned with legal requirements and company values. Assist in updating and enforcing company policies to promote fairness and inclusivity.
- Workplace Climate & Culture: Partner with leadership to assess and enhance employee engagement, morale, and satisfaction through surveys, feedback, and direct interactions with employees.
- Stay & Exit Interviews: Partner with managers to conduct stay interviews and lead offboarding/exit interviews, gathering valuable feedback for continuous improvement.
- Confidentiality & Integrity: Maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of employee relations and HR matters. Demonstrate high levels of professionalism and discretion.
- Attendance & Punctuality: Regular and reliable attendance is a fundamental requirement of this position. Employees are expected to be punctual and consistently present during their scheduled work hours to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the business.
- Take on additional projects and responsibilities as needed to support the broader HR and organizational goals.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including anti-discrimination and wage regulations. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to mediate workplace conflicts with neutrality and professionalism. Experience in conducting investigations and recommending actions. Commitment to confidentiality and discretion. Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills across all organizational levels.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). Minimum of 2 years of experience conducting impartial investigations, including interviewing, evidence collection, documentation, and recommending actions in line with company policies. Previous experience in working at hospitality and gaming settings is desired.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Demonstrated effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills using English.
REASONING ABILITY: Decisions are limited to within the scope of essential duties.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must have a valid Colorado Gaming License. Professional certifications (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) are highly desirable.
OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES: Analytical skills to identify trends and support data-driven decisions. Self-starter with a strong work ethic and initiative.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Essential duties involve performing physical exertion such as frequent brisk walking, climbing stairs, stooping, bending, stretching, reaching, pushing, kneeling, squatting, crouching, standing and primarily sitting for an entire work shift with standard breaks. Essential duties may require lifting up to 30 pounds to stack, store, or move general office supplies and equipment. Regular on-site attendance, 5 days a week, required for hospitality and gaming operations.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
$56,485 annually, with adjustments based on years of experience.
