As Senior Packaging Manager, you will lead the Companys largest operations team. You will play a critical role in ensuring the daily performance of the department enables the company to meet Production plans and customer commitments with a high degree of quality and efficiency. As an experienced people manager, you will build accountable, successful teams and foster a team environment that prioritizes safety and quality while achieving and celebrating production goals. In this position you will partner across the organization, engage with all levels of management and participate in strategic initiatives.
This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment who is willing to roll up their sleeves and support all aspects of the business. You will succeed in this role if you are a skilled people leader and a big-picture thinker who can distill plans and strategic initiatives into actionable workflows and processes to lead teams to deliver results and drive scalable growth.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Directly manage Packaging Shift Supervisors and oversee all packaging staff and operations.

Lead the Packaging department to execute production plans for a variety of products while maintaining a high degree of safety, quality and efficiency.

Read and analyze shift pass downs, prepare and organize the department to achieve plan, respond quickly to changes and anticipate future needs.

Complete check list rounds to ensure safety, quality and production standards, respond as needed with corrective action.

Troubleshoot with a continuous improvement mindset, utilize RCA and other tools to generate sustainable solutions to challenges.

Develop a deep knowledge of Packaging operations and capabilities, collaborate closely with the Sales and Operations Planning departments to inform production scheduling, planning, staffing and preventative maintenance programming.

Develop and implement lean manufacturing practices and foster a lean manufacturing mindset among the packaging team.

Utilize productivity, safety, quality and cost KPIs and data to evaluate department performance, communicate across departments and identify improvement opportunities.

Partner with others to continuously improve the Company’s operations through evaluation of employee onboarding, training, operator proficiency, procedures/SOPs, processes, preventative maintenance, change over, CIP/cleaning, capital projects etc.

Ensure daily Work order, CIP, inventory, training, production metrics and exceptions are recorded in production systems (ERP and Excel) and communicated clearly.

Manage the team and department initiatives to consistently adhere to GMP and food safety standards to achieve and maintain regulatory and certification requirements.

Develop a team-oriented work environment of accountability, performance, learning and fun while helping team members grow in their knowledge and skillsets.

Ensure company and safety policy adherence. Support and coach Shift Supervisor in personnel matters and employee development.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
-
3 – 5 years of team supervisory and management experience.
-
5 years of related, progressive experience in beverage, food or other consumer packaged goods manufacturing with operating competency in related equipment (depalletization, case packaging, filling, seaming, etc.)

Experience implementing and/or executing lean manufacturing initiatives, preventative maintenance programs and Capex expansion projects.

Knowledgeable of OSHA equipment and workplace training, certifications and injury prevention protocols.

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.) ERP/MES experience is a plus.

Self-starter with ability to prioritize effectively, juggle multiple projects and execute effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Effective and persuasive communicator with great team presence.

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Operations Management or related, or commensurate level of work experience in an operations Management role.

Salary : $85,000 - $110,000
