Job Summary: The Accounting Specialist is responsible for a range of accounting functions, including bank reconciliations, journal entries, and accounts receivable management. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of general accounting principles, financial reporting, and transaction processing.
Duties/Responsibilities - the Accounting Specialist is responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
- Using bookkeeping databases, spreadsheets, and software
- Perform monthly reconciliation of 17–20 bank accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
- Prepare and post end-of-month journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
- Oversee end-of-month accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, collections, and account adjustments.
- Manage and reconcile petty cash transactions, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
- Process and reconcile deposit receivables and deposit payables in a timely manner.
- Assist in maintaining accurate general ledger accounts and supporting documentation.
- Assist in financial statement preparation and provide support for audits as needed.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounting department.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Checking for accuracy in reports, figures and postings
- Reconciling and reporting any discrepancies found in the records
- Other duties may be assigned
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or accounts receivable
- Experience with QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Good time management skills and ability to prioritize work.
- Detail oriented to avoid errors and recognize errors that have been made
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.

- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at time
Job Type: Full-time
Expected hours: No less than 36 per week
