Product Owner
As a Product Owner at Fullbay, you will be the key link between strategic vision and product execution, ensuring that development efforts align with customer needs and company goals. You will play a vital role in deeply understanding the target customers and the product's functional requirements, translating this knowledge into actionable epics and user stories guiding the development process. You will prioritize the product backlog and manage workflow using Kanban methodology while ensuring the delivery of high-quality features through rigorous testing and continuous refinement.
The Product Owner will focus on driving consistent, incremental improvements to deliver Minimally Viable Products (MVP) or Scalable Viable Products (SVP) that solve critical customer pain points. You will collaborate across teams, fostering strong communication with developers, stakeholders, and leadership to ensure the product evolves efficiently and effectively. Success in this role requires balancing tactical project management with a strategic focus on delivering customer value through high-impact iterations.
The Product Owner also plays a critical role in goal setting, performance tracking, and quality assurance to ensure that all product releases meet Fullbay's standards of excellence. Through regular collaboration with stakeholders and continuous feedback, you will help guide the product toward achieving its objectives, adapting strategies as necessary to ensure alignment with customer needs and company priorities.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Product and Customer Expertise:
- Deeply understand the target customer for your product or domain. Understand the customer’s workflows, pain points, and how Fullbay contributes to their success and struggles.
- Deeply understand your product or domain area. Demonstrate the product or domain area to customers, Fullbay employees, and key stakeholders and succinctly communicate the value proposition.
- Backlog Management and Prioritization:
- Efficiently manage and prioritize the product backlog to ensure alignment with company goals and customer needs.
- Continuously refine the backlog to maintain clarity and ensure development teams understand what to build next, balancing high-impact features and ongoing customer feedback.
- Epic and User Story Creation:
- Craft detailed and comprehensive epics and one-page user stories, with clear acceptance criteria that communicate the desired outcome to the development team.
- Work closely with developers to ensure stories are actionable and aligned with the broader product roadmap.
- Project Management and Workflow Optimization:
- Oversee the development process using Kanban methodology, ensuring that work-in-progress (WIP) remains small and focused, streamlining productivity and maintaining continuous progress.
- Collaborate with developers to refine feature work, set priorities, and address issues as they arise.
- Quality Assurance and Milestone Management:
- Safeguard the release of code by ensuring it meets all established milestones and quality checkpoints before deployment, maintaining Fullbay's high standards.
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by developing test cases to validate the functionality and performance of new features.
- Regularly test new features during development to enforce a high-quality threshold and ensure the product meets Fullbay's standards of excellence before release
- Incremental Product Development:
- Guide the development of a walking skeleton into a Minimally Viable Product (MVP) or Scalable Viable Product (SVP) through consistent, incremental, and impactful iterations.
- Encourage rapid iterations to accelerate value delivery, ensuring the product evolves efficiently to meet user needs.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Be available and flexible to work closely with the development team while balancing the need to attend critical meetings with stakeholders, customers, and leadership.
- Maintain regular communication with key stakeholders to keep projects aligned and swiftly drive features that create customer value.
- Goal Setting and Performance Tracking:
- Lead the setting of objectives and key results (OKRs) for product features, tracking relevant metrics to ensure the product meets its goals and objectives.
- Regularly assess progress toward these goals, adapting strategies as needed based on performance insights and customer feedback.
Minimum Education & Work Experience:
- 2 to 4 years of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role within software development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. A Masters degree is in business, technology management is a plus.
- Certification in Product Ownership or Agile methodology (e.g., CSPO) is a plus.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of Agile principles and methodologies, with practical experience in Scrum/Kanban frameworks.
- Proficiency in Pendo, Monday.com, and Jira for managing project workflows.
- Familiarity with common research methodologies used to identify, validate and quantify customer requirements, business priorities, and competitive trends.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage product development cycles and understand technical requirements.
- Experience with backlog grooming, product planning, and iteration processes.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities with a customer-focused orientation.
