PRODUCT OWNER
The Role:
Our client seeking a dynamic Product Owner to take charge of the product vision, driving innovation, fostering self-development, and building strong relationships. The ideal candidate will be highly adaptable, curious, and passionate about understanding the "why" behind each request while owning and shaping the product's overall vision. In this role, you'll be responsible for defining and executing a strategic product roadmap that aligns with business goals and delivers significant value to customers. You'll lead product initiatives from ideation to launch, ensuring quality, scalability, and market relevance, all while collaborating closely with product owners, executives, engineers, and key stakeholders. This role requires candidates to be based in Arizona and offers a hybrid work option, with up to three days on-site.
What you will accomplish:
- Define and communicate the overall product vision, ensuring it aligns with business objectives, and guides the development process to keep the team focused on delivering value.
- Create, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog, including new features, fixes, improvements, and maintenance, while balancing business value, customer needs, and technical feasibility.
- Continuously evaluate and prioritize requirements, ensuring the team works on the most valuable features first, balancing stakeholder needs, engineering constraints, customer feedback, market trends, and team capacity.
- Regularly communicates with stakeholders, including users, business leaders, engineering, and support teams, to ensure the product aligns with customer needs and business goals.
- Break down requirements into clear, actionable user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
- Actively participate in sprint planning meetings to ensure proper task prioritization and, during sprint reviews, validates completed work, checks for acceptance criteria, and provides feedback to guide future development.
- Ensure the product meets quality standards by working with Quality Assurance to guarantee thorough testing, defect-free features, and complete implementations.
- Plan and schedule product releases, ensuring they are delivered on time with proper testing and clear communication to stakeholders and users.
- Continuously gather feedback from users, customers, and market trends, adjusting priorities and refining the product direction to meet evolving market and user needs.
- Maintain the product roadmap, highlighting major milestones, upcoming features, and timelines, and uses it as a strategic tool to align teams and stakeholders on long-term product goals.
What we would like you to have:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in product ownership, collaborating with executives and developers to align on a shared vision and achieve optimal product outcomes.
- Strong relationship management skills with stakeholders, including executives, users, and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, ensuring alignment across the organization while acting as the product's chief advocate.
- In-depth understanding of Agile principles, including Scrum and Kanban, with proven ability to refine and prioritize the product backlog based on data, business value, and technical feasibility.
- Skilled at translating complex business requirements into clear, actionable user stories and defining acceptance criteria.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience using data to drive informed product decisions.
- Ability to interpret user feedback, conduct competitive analysis, and evaluate product performance metrics to guide development and prioritize enhancements.
- Proficient in understanding technical constraints, system architecture, and the software development process.
- Skilled in working effectively with engineering teams, anticipating risks, and balancing technical debt with feature development to deliver a scalable, reliable, performant, secure, and high-quality product.
