We are seeking an experienced construction project superintendent to oversee projects. This position requires a background in construction and experience within the field in general construction, concrete, earthwork, and excavation.

Job Description:

The Project Superintendents job is to meet or exceed the projects goals and objectives in the areas of quality, customer satisfaction, completion time and bottom-line profit.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • To perform and supervise the labor, carpentry and concrete
  • Project coordination.
  • Field records- time cards, daily reports, and project progress
  • Job site organization, image and safety.
  • Project cost.
  • To communicate with project manager regarding submittals, deliveries, and subcontractors.
  • To maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools.
  • To ensure that the project meets the requirements of the plans, specifications, submittals, shop drawings, contract terms and change orders.
  • To ensure that projects are completed within the necessary time frame.
  • Coordinate with general manager, project manager, other project superintendents, and office manager.
  • Supervise company field employees and subcontractors.

5. build or repair structures in construction, repair, or manufacturing setting

6. construct, erect, or repair wooden frameworks or structures

7. cut, shape, fit, or join wood or other construction materials

8. dig holes or trenches for foundations, posts, poles, or related items

9. erect scaffold

10. finish concrete surfaces

11. grade or redistribute earth for roads or other construction

12. install prefabricated building components

13. install siding or sheeting

14. maintain or repair construction machinery or equipment

15. measure and mark lay out for construction projects

16. measure construction dimensions

17. operate earth-moving or other heavy construction equipment

18. operate jackhammer

19. operate pneumatic tamper to patch pavement or tamp earth

20. operate power construction equipment

21. perform safety inspections in construction or resource extraction setting

22. repair cracks, defects, or damage in installed building materials

23. set up heavy construction equipment

24. use concrete fabrication techniques

25. use measuring devices in construction or extraction work

26. verify levelness or verticality, using level or plumb bob

27. apply plaster, stucco or related material

28. understand construction specifications

29. build or repair masonry structures, including kilns or furnaces

30. lay or install brick, block, stone, tile, or related masonry material

31. mix mortar, grout, slurry, concrete, or related masonry material

32. prepare site or surfaces for concrete or masonry work

33. use surfacing machine to polish terrazzo or concrete

34. mix paint, ingredients, or chemicals, according to specifications

35. paint walls or other structural surfaces

36. prepare building surfaces for paint, finishes, wallpaper, or adhesives

37. use basic carpentry techniques

38. use hand or power woodworking tools

39. use spray paint equipment

40. climb ladders, scaffolding, or utility or telephone poles

41. move or lift heavy objects

42. work as a team member

43. direct human or vehicle traffic

44. operate land or site surveying instruments

45. test air quality, noise, temperature, or radiation

46. test air to detect toxic gases

47. design waste recovery methods

48. use hazardous disposal techniques

49. use hazardous materials information

50. adhere to safety procedures

51. clean rooms or work areas

52. use airbrush techniques

53. control operation of compressors

54. clean equipment or machinery

55. fabricate, assemble, or disassemble manufactured products by hand

56. assemble and install pipe sections, fittings, or plumbing fixtures

57. install underground storm, sanitation, or water piping systems

58. lay out piping systems

59. apply adhesives, caulking, sealants, or coatings

60. apply cleaning solvents

61. apply protective coating to products

62. assist mechanic, or extractive or construction trades craft worker

63. load, unload, or stack containers, materials, or products

64. lubricate machinery, equipment, or parts

65. move materials or goods between work areas

66. operate hoist, winch, or hydraulic boom

67. operate power driven pumps

68. position, align, or level machines, equipment, or structures

69. read tape measure

70. read work order, instructions, formulas, or processing charts

71. signal directions or warnings to coworkers

72. use hand or power tools

73. install water or sewer treatment plant equipment

74. clean or degrease weld, or parts to be welded or soldered

75. direct and coordinate highway transportation activities
