Summary
Fuller School of Psychology & Marriage and Family Therapy has a Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) department with both Master’s and Doctorate-level degree programs. Affiliate faculty instructors applying for this position would teach in the Doctorate degree program which involves mostly online synchronous courses with one in-person weekend intensive.
The Doctor of Marriage and Family Therapy (DMFT) degree at Fuller’s School of Psychology & Marriage and Family Therapy is designed for licensed mental health clinicians seeking to deepen their clinical expertise and further their professional training. This hybrid (online and in-person) DMFT program provides advanced clinical training and greater knowledge in assessment and research for licensed therapists practicing in clinical settings. The curriculum is based on the clinician-consultant model which is unique to Fuller’s DMFT program. The program was developed out of a commitment to the integration of faith and psychology and to multicultural competence in clinical and professional practice.
Availability of positions is variable and dependent upon numbers of students and courses required. Screening of submitted applications begins when a teaching vacancy arises.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach online synchronous, hybrid, or online asynchronous courses assigned by the Program Director.
- Prepare a syllabus and teach courses according to the goals and objectives of the department and its particular program curriculum.
- Build and maintain the online course shells in Canvas for student accessibility.
- Provide a learning environment that supports student success.
- Maintain virtual office hours for each class and mentor and guide students beyond the classroom.
- Ensure timely management and response to electronic correspondence from students, administrators, and other school officials.
- Lead forum discussions and engage students in relevant discussion and coursework.
- Partner with the Program Director and AAPM (Academic Advisor and Program Manager) to address student concerns.
- Maintain and submit accurate and timely reports for student grades/progress.
- Deliver final grades in accordance with the academic calendar.
- Enforce student conduct policies as outlined in the student handbook.
- Responsible for daily electronic timekeeping as it applies to the scope of this position.
- Additional duties may be assigned by the program, as relevant to the particular course.
Experience and Skills Required
- Must have a terminal degree in MFT, clinical psychology, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Able to work cooperatively within the seminary community.
- Able to support the goals and aims of the DMFT degree program.
- Sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, gender, and denominational differences.
- Able to support the Fuller Statement of Faith and abide by the community standards.
- Experience with online and/or hybrid mode teaching
- Affiliate faculty will not exceed 39 hours of work in one week or 8 hours of work in one day.
- Must provide own laptop for work.
Experience and Skills Preferred
- Knowledge of and experience with seminary education.
- Online teaching experience
- Experience with teaching adult learners

Pay Scale
- Wage range the Seminary expects to pay: $22.00 to $51.00 per hour USD.
