Summary

Fuller DMIN and DGL has created a program of theological education that develops practitioners who are encouraged to think creatively, cultivate new skills, and nurture their hearts, so that they might pursue their calling with excellence and passion to meet the challenges of a changing world.
Availability of positions is variable and dependent upon numbers of students and courses required. Screening of submitted applications begins when a teaching vacancy arises
This position works both online and in person for one-week intensives in Pasadena, California or other locations.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Teaching synchronous or asynchronous seminars as assigned by school or program. Each class is a series of three 4-unit sections over 9 months.
- Preparing of syllabus and teaching of curriculum according to the goals and objectives of the department.
- Build and maintain the online course shells in Canvas for student accessibility.
- Providing a learning environment that supports student success.
- Maintaining virtual office hours for each class and mentor and guide students beyond the classroom.
- Ensuring timely management and response to electronic correspondence from students, administrators, and other school officials.
- Leading forum discussions and engaging students in relevant discussion and coursework.
- Partnering with Academic Advisors to address student concerns.
- Maintaining and submitting accurate and timely reports for student grades/progress.
- Delivering final grades in accordance with the academic calendar.
- Enforcing student conduct policies as outlined in the student handbook.
- Remain current with trends, techniques, and advances in distance learning and theological education.
- Responsible for daily electronic timekeeping as it applies to the scope of this position.
- Additional duties as may be assigned by the school.
- Potentially serve as theological mentor for doctoral projects and dissertations.
Experience and Skills Required
- Terminal degree of theological nature from an accredited college or university (Ph.D. of theological nature, D.Min., DMiss, DGL, DIS, D.Ed.Min) or equivalent professional experience.
- Must be able to propose a class that fits within the program learning outcomes and addresses the educational needs of ministry leaders (and not duplicate classes already offered).
- At least 6 years of ministry experience.
- Able to work cooperatively within the seminary community.
- Able to support the goals and aims of the Doctor of Ministry and Doctor of Global Leadership degrees.
- Able to articulate a theology of ministry.
- Sensitive to cultural, ethnic, gender and denominational differences.
- Able to support the Fuller Statement of Faith and abide by the community standards.
- Experience with online and/or hybrid mode teaching
- Affiliate faculty will not exceed 39 hours of work in one week or 8 hours of work in one day.
- Must provide own laptop for work.
Experience and Skills Preferred
- Knowledge of and experience with seminary education.
- Online teaching experience
- Experience with teaching adult learners

Pay Scale
- Wage range the Seminary expects to pay: $22.00 to $51.00 per hour USD.
