Summary
Fuller School of Psychology & Marriage and Family Therapy has two doctoral level programs (PhD Doctor of Philosophy and PsyD Doctor of Psychology) in Clinical Psychology.
Using the scientist-practitioner model, the Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology blends clinical training with innovative research. As part of our commitment to deep theological integration, students also earn a master's degree in one of the following: theology, theology and ministry, intercultural studies, or divinity. Using the Practitioner-Scholar model, the Fuller Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) trains professionals to provide psychotherapy and assessment services and to develop, implement, and evaluate innovative treatment programs. Working with diverse populations is a feature of our programs.
Availability of positions is variable and dependent upon numbers of students and courses required. Screening of submitted applications begins when a teaching vacancy arises
This position works either online or in person in Pasadena, California, depending upon the modality of the course.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Teaching face to face, online synchronous, hybrid, or online asynchronous courses assigned by Program Chairs.
- Preparing of syllabus and teaching of curriculum according to the goals and objectives of the department.
- Build and maintain the online course shells in Canvas for student accessibility.
- Providing a learning environment that supports student success.
- Maintaining virtual office hours for each class and mentor and guide students beyond the classroom.
- Ensuring timely management and response to electronic correspondence from students, administrators, and other school officials.
- Leading forum discussions and engaging students in relevant discussion and coursework.
- Partnering with the Program Chairs and Program Manager and Academic Advisor to address student concerns.
- Maintaining and submitting accurate and timely reports for student grades/progress.
- Delivering final grades in accordance with the academic calendar.
- Enforcing student conduct policies as outlined in the student handbook.
- Responsible for daily electronic timekeeping as it applies to the scope of this position.
- Additional duties may be assigned by the school, as relevant to the particular course.
Experience and Skills Required
- Terminal degree of nature appropriate to the topic taught from an accredited college or university (PhD, EdD, PsyD).
- Able to work cooperatively within the seminary community.
- Able to support the goals and aims of the PhD and PsyD in Clinical Psychology degrees.
- Sensitive to cultural, ethnic, gender and denominational differences.
- Able to support the Fuller Statement of Faith and abide by the community standards.
- Experience with online and/or hybrid mode teaching
- Affiliate faculty will not exceed 39 hours of work in one week or 8 hours of work in one day.
- Must provide own laptop for work.
Experience and Skills Preferred
- Knowledge of and experience with seminary education.
- Online teaching experience
- Experience with teaching adult learners

- Fully remote work within the United States is subject to payroll state approval by Fuller Theological Seminary
Pay Scale
- Wage range the Seminary expects to pay: $22.00 to $51.00 per hour USD.
