Position Profile
The School of Psychology & Marriage and Family Therapy (SoPMFT) at Fuller Theological Seminary invites applications for a part-time to full-time appointment as assistant to associate professor of the Practice of Clinical Psychology. This faculty appointment will be in the Clinical Psychology Department and will support the psychology doctoral programs located in Pasadena, CA. Fuller’s Clinical Psychology department offers two degrees: an PhD in Clinical Psychology and a PsyD in Clinical Psychology. Both programs are designed to prepare graduates for careers and leadership positions in areas such as academia, private practice, university counseling centers, hospitals, and community mental health clinics.
The primary responsibilities of this non-tenure track position include teaching courses focused on clinical interventions, scholarship, or integration and supervising students' academic work, including MA theses and dissertation projects, in the Clinical Psychology Department. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing clinical services to clients and in helping students develop their clinical and scholarly skills. The integration of psychology and theology is central to our school’s identity and the preferred candidate will display competence in this area.

Qualifications
- A doctoral degree in psychology is required.
- Proven record of effective clinical service, teaching, clinical supervision, and scholarship. The successful candidate will offer core and elective courses in the PhD and PsyD in Clinical Psychology program(s) and mentor doctoral student scholarship.
- At the time of appointment, the candidate must be licensed/licensed-eligible in the state of California.
- Commitment to thinking theologically/missiologically/psychologically about, teaching, and practicing in ways that speak to established and emerging cultures in the 21st century
- The personal, academic, and/or professional development to effectively serve the culturally, ethnically, racially, and theologically diverse student body of the seminary.
- Commitment to theological education in the service of the local and global church, to shaping leaders for the church’s mission and ministry, to the spiritual formation of students, and to supporting women and men in pastoral and other leadership positions.
- Faith and lifestyle congruent with the mission of Fuller Theological Seminary as expressed in its statement of faith, community standards and institutional commitments.
Rank and Other Considerations
- Initial three-year appointment.
- Rank dependent upon qualifications and experience.
- Full-time contract includes the equivalent of 5 courses and doctoral mentorship,
- Position to begin as early as 1 July 2025.

Pay Scale
Salary range the seminary expects to pay: $74,000 - $80,500 annually USD (for full-time contract)
