Location: Hobart, IN
Position Summary: The Quality Control Technician plays a key role in the Quality Control department by performing quality assurance activities in accordance with the WCM Quality Manual and ISO procedures.
Note: This is an onsite position. Candidates must be local to Northwest Indiana.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct receiving inspections to ensure supplied components meet specifications.
- Calibrate gauges and inspection equipment used throughout the facility.
- Perform manufacturing process audits to ensure compliance with quality control standards.
- Conduct spot checks and sampling inspections to confirm product adherence to standards.
- Analyze warranty returns to determine the root cause of failures.
- Maintain accurate computer and paper records of all assigned activities.
- Create, maintain, and manage revisions of documentation and procedures.
- Use procedures, checklists, blueprints, and other work instructions for inspections.
- Support the Quality Engineer in implementing corrective actions for non-conformities using the CAPA (Corrective and Preventative Action) process.
- Demonstrate safe, professional, and health-conscious behavior at all times.
- Contribute to achieving the company's quality goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 6 months of experience in a quality assurance or quality control role in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with ISO or similar formal quality management systems.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, protractors, squares, torque wrenches, bore gauges, and belt tension gauges.
- Strong math skills, including the ability to calculate fractions and decimals.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, including spatial orientation, dimensioning, and tolerances.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and documentation management.
Salary : $20 - $24
