Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare intravenous admixtures and sterile products, adhering to strict quality control standards.
- Fulfill physician orders, prescriptions, medication cabinets, and stock requisitions with precision and professionalism.
- Deliver medications and supplies to patient care and ancillary areas, prioritizing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide technical support for automated pharmacy equipment, including maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Identify and replace outdated or unusable drugs, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Pack medications as required for dispensing, upholding high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications may be beneficial.
- Certification by a Board-approved competency exam or active pursuit of certification per Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Meet department standards for IV admixture through training provided by pharmacists and certified IV technicians, including passing a written exam.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of drug names, medical terminology, and basic math.
- Able to compound medications and prepare intravenous products, including antineoplastic drugs, under supervision.
- Basic computer proficiency.
