Shift: 12:00 PM – 6:30 PM; Weekends 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Includes: Every other weekend & holiday rotation

Job Summary:
Fulton County Health Center is seeking a dedicated and reliable Cook to join our Food & Nutrition Services team. The Cook at Fulton County Health Center prepares, seasons, and cooks food as determined by the day's menu for hospital patients, employees, and visitors. This role is essential in providing high-quality, nutritious meals that meet the dietary needs and expectations of our diverse community.
Key Responsibilities:
The Cook will perform the following duties, with the understanding that other tasks may be assigned as needed:
- Food Preparation: Prepare, portion, and handle raw and cooked foods following sanitation standards, including HACCP guidelines. Meals must be palatable, properly seasoned, and served at the correct temperature.
- Menu Execution: Prepare food according to standardized recipes and in appropriate amounts to serve hospital patients, residents, staff, and visitors.
- Station Management: Work the hot station for FCHC patients' breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- Sanitation and Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized work area, wash pots, pans, and other equipment used, and adhere to the cleaning schedule to ensure a hygienic kitchen environment.
- Food Storage: Assist in storing food and supplies upon delivery. Properly temper meat from the freezer in the walk-in cooler for future meal preparation.
- Equipment Care: Ensure food production and transport-related equipment is properly cared for and in good working condition.
- Safety and Security: Safeguard the kitchen by locking storerooms and freezers, turning off equipment, and maintaining safety standards.
- Special Meal Preparation: Assist with grilling or deep-fat frying for evening meals, and may prepare food for special functions or events.
- Delivery Assistance: Assist with receiving deliveries from vendors and checking in supplies as needed.

Requirements
- Must be at least 17 years of age.
- Cooking experience in institutional or related field.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Positive attitude and commitment to providing excellent service.
