Surgery - Certified Surgical Technologist
Department: Nursing - Surgery
Status Hours: Full-time, 72 flex hours bi-weekly
Shift: Primarily 1st Shift, with flexible start times based on schedule
Signing Bonus: Included
Job Summary:
Fulton County Health Center is seeking a skilled and dedicated Certified Surgical Technologist to join our surgical team. This full-time position involves working under the direct supervision of the registered nurse circulator and performing essential duties in the scrub role. The Surgical Technologist will contribute to maintaining a sterile field and ensuring the smooth coordination of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Function as a member of the surgical team, performing assigned duties of a surgical technologist in the scrub role.
- Apply knowledge of aseptic technique to participate effectively in surgical procedures.
- Coordinate the care of instruments, equipment, and supplies, ensuring the integrity of the sterile field.
- Provide labeled medication to the surgeon for administration, though medication administration and I.V. procedures are not within the scope of this role.
- Provide care to patients across all age groups.
Requirements
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent; must be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certification: Maintain current certification through the acquisition of mandatory contract hours of continuing education as approved by the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST).
- Flexibility: Willingness to change job assignments as needed to meet staffing and scheduling requirements.
- Availability: Able to respond to hospital within 30 minutes from receipt of a call for unplanned surgical care.
