Summary
Provides direction and supervision for those individuals tasked with the supply functions of the District’s warehouse
Essential Duties
- Manages the receipt, storage, and delivery of food commodities, textbooks, classroom furniture, curriculum materials and equipment
- Manages the daily internal District mail and “on call” special delivery services
- Coordinates a preventive maintenance program for the department vehicles and material handling equipment
- Manages the safety, training, and security programs for the warehouse
- Provides timely logistical status reports utilizing computer programs on a daily basis
- Plans, monitors, and evaluates work performance
- Manages the daily staff attendance reporting
- Coordinates with schools and other departments in the performance of the warehouse mission
- Provides support to new schools and schools undergoing renovations
- Assists in the surplus equipment and material mission
- Participates on District committees
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Extensive working knowledge of large warehousing and delivery system and computerized inventory system
- Ability to lead, organize, and direct the work of others
- Working ability with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Must be able to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects and responsibilities
- Ability to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various issues
- Must be able to collaborate effectively with District personnel, the general public, and work with diverse groups of people
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Physical Demands
- Able to climb and work from safety ladders
- Ability to walk several miles a day inside a warehouse
- Ability to correctly lift and carry 80 pounds
- Ability to transport 150 pounds up and down stairs utilizing a hand truck
- Ability to load and off load 1500 pounds from a truck utilizing a manual pallet jack
- Ability to operate a forklift in transporting and placing material into a rack system over 10 feet high
