The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to inserting electronic parts into printed circuit boards that can be a moving or stationary plate, installing parts or sub-assemblies into the product’s housing, soldering, labeling, and packaging the product, and cleaning up of the area.

GENERAL SUMMARY

PART-TIME SCHEDULE:
Part-time staff would work the following hours during a regular week:
M-W 7:00 am until 3:30 pm and Th 7:00 am until 11:00 am
Part-time staff would work the following hours during mandatory overtime:
M-W 7:00 am until 5:00 pm
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*
- Prepare circuit boards using various components in preparation for final assembly.
- Place small components into the circuit board using your fingers.
- Touch up the solder.
- Change parts and house units.
- May assist with part preparation.
- Must be able to identify colors.
- Label and box units for shipping.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Dependable and on time.
- Able to follow work instructions with attention to detail.
- Inspect your own work and the work of others for quality.
- All other job duties as assigned and needed.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS (include but are not limited to:)
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers, reach with arms and hands, stand and sit and walk. The employee must have the manual ability and dexterity to use tools for prolonged periods of time, and the cognitive and mental functions necessary to handle more than one complex task at a time. The employee must lift and/or move up to forty (40) pounds, team lift if necessary. Specific vision abilities require close vision, the ability to differentiate between colors, ability to adjust and focus. Able to sit for prolonged periods of time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is moderately quiet. There could be interruptions in the workflow. The position may occasionally handle absentee replacements on short notice.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in assembly or manufacturing preferred, not required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods.
- Ability to observe instrumentation or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
- Basic understanding of parts assembly.
- Cognitive ability to follow and understand work instructions.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Extremely organized and able to work in a team environment.
