Job Overview
The assistant manager must exemplify leadership and organization, as well as have experience in the dog care industry. Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively to customers, co-workers, and upper management. Must have knowledge of dog behavior and set the needs and care of the dogs as your number one priority. We are also looking for someone that has experience leading a team and upholding company expectations for self and staff.
We are looking for someone with open or close to open availability. Shifts will mostly be Monday – Friday, a minimum of one weekend day per month is required, and a minimum of one closing shift per month is required. The assistant manager will be required to work a minimum of 30 hours in the daycare/ kennel, with an additional 2 hours allotted per week for admin tasks. Assistant manager will also be responsible for the work phone as needed for an additional daily rate.
Duties
- All tasks outlined on the dog care associate job description.
*Cleaning of the facility and grounds. Includes the cleanup of pet excrement.
*Monitoring dogs in one or more group.
*Ensuring the safety of all dogs.
*Utilizing our payment and scheduling software.
*Completing daily checklists.
*Feeding and administering medication to dogs and adding notes to software.
*Accepting payments and monitoring customer accounts.
*Actively play with the dogs.
*Basic dog first aid
- Leading staff by assigning daily tasks and group assignments, ensuring completion of all daily checklists, ensuring all company policies are being followed. Offering corrections and feedback and presenting continuous issues to management for further action.
- Ensuring all protocol regarding dog safety and cleanliness is upheld. Knowledge of all dogs at the facility and assigning dog play groups accordingly.
- Monitoring/ reporting/ and completing basic repairs and maintenance to the facility as damage occurs.
- Monthly order of supplies
- Monthly refill of in office documents
- Updating information into our software system
- Office organization and admin tasks
- Hosting and scheduling new dog meet and greets
- Communicating with customers regarding issues, payments, boarding or daycare updates, etc.
- Assist in photos and marketing content for our social media
Individual Must
- Have prior experience with dogs or in the animal care industry
- Have prior experience with team leadership and/ or management
- Able to meet all requirements as outlined in the job description
- Must have the ability to work weekends, holidays.
- Be very reliable, with a reliable form of transportation and valid driver's license.
- Have a genuine affection for animals and a desire to provide them with sanitary and pleasant living conditions.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
