What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility Clerk position at Furst-McNess Company?
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS :
This position reports directly to the Plant Manager or designate.
PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE :
Under immediate supervision, performs routine clerical functions along with performing numerous duties following established guidelines or general instructions.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Weigh trucks daily maintaining accurate and orderly records for all shipments coming in and out of the facility.
Proofread completed work for accuracy and compliance. May assemble or prepare related material for such assignments if required.
Timely submission of all required for information or reports.
Answer the telephone(s), take messages when necessary, and perform other similar tasks.
Perform a variety of clerical duties such as filing, maintain records, proofreading, and preparing special reports, some of which may be highly complex and / or confidential.
Perform other work-related duties as requested or required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Be able to succeed within and adhere to the culture of the Furst-McNess Company.
Ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation.
Education equivalent to graduation from high school or the equivalent in related work experience.
Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office products.
Proficient in the use of all office equipment.
Ability to read, write and speak English.
Good communication skills, both oral and written, and is capable of utilizing these skills within all levels of the Company as well as externally.
Possess a thorough knowledge of work routines and the ability to perform assigned duties with an absolute minimum of supervision or direction.
Ability to provide outstanding customer service to all associates and management staff, showing a sense of urgency relative to solving problems, performing assigned tasks, employee concerns, etc.
Ability to effectively organize work schedule and manage multiple assignments by utilizing time management skills to ensure day-to-day assignments and special projects are completed within guidelines agreed upon.
Ability to work as an effective team member within the plant and company, as a whole. Willingness to pitch in and do work that may not be a specific part of the job description for the overall good of the department and company.
Ability to be flexible and be willing to change along with recommending changes that can enhance our ability to serve both internal and external customers more effectively and in a professional manner. Respect other peoples' points of view and be able to take constructive criticism.
