Overview
We are seeking a sharp, detail-oriented Construction Estimator to support the ownership team in managing costs, analyzing bids, and tracking budgets for a ground-up luxury home project in Delray Beach, Florida, with more projects to follow.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in residential estimating who wants to grow into a key advisor role—working directly with an owner’s rep, consultants, and high-end builders. You’ll play a critical part in protecting budgets, reviewing scopes of work, and ensuring we make smart, value-driven decisions throughout the build.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates and perform quantity takeoffs from architectural and engineering plans
- Review and compare subcontractor bids to ensure accuracy, scope coverage, and cost alignment
- Assist in developing and updating project budgets, including allowance tracking and cost forecasting
- Collaborate with the Owner’s Rep / PM to evaluate change orders and potential cost impacts
- Support procurement, pricing, and vendor negotiation efforts
- Help develop cost baselines for future luxury residential projects
Qualifications
- 3–6 years of experience in construction estimating, ideally in high-end residential or custom homes
- Skilled in reviewing architectural drawings and interpreting construction scopes
- Strong working knowledge of South Florida construction costs and trades preferred
- Proficient with Excel and takeoff/estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar)
- Highly organized, analytical, and comfortable communicating with PMs, vendors, and owners
