Payroll & Staff Accountant Specialist (Hybrid)
Location: Windham, NH (Hybrid)
Compensation: $70,000
Are you a skilled accounting professional with a passion for payroll and financial accuracy? We’re seeking a Payroll & Staff Accountant Specialist to join our team in a critical hybrid role that blends payroll management with staff accounting functions.
This position offers the opportunity to oversee full-cycle payroll across multiple states, ensure compliance with payroll tax laws, and contribute to financial reconciliation and journal entries. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates effectively with employees and clients, and has a meticulous attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Manage weekly and bi-weekly payrolls for home office and field employees, ensuring compliance with state payroll tax regulations and accurate reconciliation.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process vendor invoices, manage collections, and maintain accurate records for financial reporting.
- Financial Reconciliation: Perform journal entries, track revenue and expenses, and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Compliance & Problem-Solving: Address payroll discrepancies, such as overpayments, with a focus on compliance and employee relations.
- Communication: Serve as a liaison between employees, clients, and internal teams, ensuring clarity and professionalism in all interactions.
What You Bring:
- 2 years of experience in payroll processing and staff accounting.
- Expertise in full-cycle payroll and state payroll tax compliance across multiple states.
- Proficiency with Rippling, NetSuite, Bill.com, and/or Expensify are a plus.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with a professional and approachable demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with journal entries, reversing entries, and benefits reconciliation.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred).
