Description
This position is responsible for overseeing Quality Control Inspectors and for strict adherence to FIA company policies, procedures, and performance expectations by managing and coaching staff members, and by leading by example.
- Audit compliance with Standard Work Instructions and Quality Work Instructions
- Enforce company policies and internal controls
- Audit and enforce all Safety Regulations
- Manage and maintain Quality tools and equipment
- Investigating and communicating Quality concerns
- Create countermeasures to reduce risk of recurring issues
- Disposition Quality issues
- Maintain proper 4S within area of responsibility
- Support Quality improvement and cost saving initiatives such as scrap reduction
- Conduct sorting and containment of suspect parts due to internal and external defects on both finished goods and single components under the direction of a QC Supervisor or above
- Assist with countermeasures for noncompliant items found during internal or third party audits
- Ensure product quality conforms to the customer’s specification requirements
- Monitor and track data trends on the Sample Data Sheets and elevate all items that don’t comply with customer specification requirements
- Assist with level up activity for out of tolerance items
- Train others in the methods of collecting variable and attribute data using Quality tools and equipment
- Assist production with Quality related activity
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must have proficient oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to work the company’s required overtime
- Must comply with FIA’s Attendance Policy.
- Must have a good understanding of Toyota Inspection Standard
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well under stressful conditions
- Ability to read and understand written instructions, interpret drawings and weld maps
- Must be proficient at basic math
- Must be able to use basic measuring tools such as calipers, steel rule, taper gauge, feeler gauges, surface indicator and other tools as needed
- Basic computer skills
- Strong problem solving skills
