What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dayshift Quality Technician Jasper Warehouse position at Kimball International?
This role is responsible for quality, auditing and coaching of warehouse personnel to instill and apply concepts and principles of QUALITY and Continuous Improvement throughout the entire organization.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Coordinate with team leads on what training is needed and then responsible for the training of all employees on handling, storage and loading procedures.
- Introduce best practices into warehouses operations
- Responsible for keeping all work instructions current and develop additional work instructions as needed
- Promote and lead 6S processes within the warehouse to promote good housekeeping.
- Plan internal quality audits to ensure quality standards are met in all stages of the loading, storing, unloading, and staging process.
- Conduct quality audits on all handling and storage processes on all shifts.
- Perform inspection of product and cartons as needed
- Responsible for the RGA process including monitoring the return and tracking of RGAs
- Measure and report RGA's by product type, ship point, etc.
- Communicate/coordinate as needed with employees on floor.
- Participate in “warehouse event teams” or other process improvement teams
- Provide honest and fact based feedback to employees on results of audit findings
- Ensure all clamp lifts are calibrated and document the calibration dates and results.
- Identify equipment and processes needed to improve the handling of product.
- Recommend processes improvements and take corrective action.
