Paralegal – Special Districts & Municipalities
We are seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal to provide support to attorneys representing special districts, authorities, and municipalities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Elections: Assist with various elections (polling place, mail ballots, board of director, TABOR, charter amendment), including coordinating with counties, preparing election forms, training election judges, and certifying results.
- Statutory Compliance: Manage statutory deadlines, ensuring compliance with filings and legal actions, staying updated on local government law, and coordinating with attorneys.
- Administration: Support clients and attorneys with board meeting agendas, minutes, contracts, notices, and various legal documents. Monitor projects and manage delinquent service accounts. Coordinate certificates of appointment and conflict of interest disclosures.
- Budgets & Audits: Assist in preparing budgets, budget amendments, and audits. Ensure timely filings with state and local agencies and prepare resolutions for budget adoption and certifications of mill levies.
- Other Responsibilities: Assist with inclusions/exclusions, draft ordinances, resolutions, pleadings, policies, municipal code revisions, property transactions, and CORA requests.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience as a paralegal for special districts or municipalities, preferably in a law firm.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
