Full Charge Bookkeeper
Immediate opening for a PART TIME Bookkeeper to join our family owned real estate development business. This flexible schedule position requires about 10-12 hours per week. We are seeking a responsible, experienced candidate who is detail-oriented and can work independently while assuming significant responsibilities. Must be able to deal with variables/complexities of multiple projects/entities.
The job scope primarily includes general bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll. Some experience in the real estate or construction fields is preferred as the position will involve assigning and preparing payments to the proper construction projects, recordkeeping for property transactions, completing journal entries and other month-end close activities and reconciliations.
:
· Prepare checks for payment of invoices. Post payments to QuickBooks
· Update and maintain all accounting records using QuickBooks, and Excel
· Perform monthly, quarterly and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, post project expense and sales details, coordinate and complete annual audits, and review financial reports
· Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
- Enter and balance accounts receivable and payables on a daily basis
- Assist with other accounting projects in the office
- Make deposits to banks as needed
- Track deposits made to bank and handle deposit transfers
- Process payroll and tax deposits for payroll
- Assemble P&L statements for owner analysis
- Assemble financial data for audits and tax reporting
- Monitor credit card charges, payment discrepancies, and miscellaneous charges
· Maintain orderly financial filing system
· Correspond with CPA as needed
· Other miscellaneous duties as required
Associate Degree in Accounting preferred
Advanced knowledge and experience with QuickBooks, Excel and payroll required
Ability to create and edit Excel spreadsheets
Excellent organization and administrative skills
Experience in real estate or construction fields is preferred but not required
Must be able to work independently
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $38.00 - $43.00 per hour
