We are in search of a Credit and Collection Specialist for our Corporate office located in Council Bluffs, IA. The ideal candidate will be someone who is customer focused, very responsive, action oriented, and has experience resolving collection issues, billing discrepancies and account disputes while preserving customer relationships. This role is customer facing which requires the candidate to have a high level of professionalism in how they handle client and customer interactions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Responsible for day to day collections of accounts, collecting on past due accounts, approve daily orders

· Responsible for approving whether or not a sales order in real time is allowed to be delivered/picked up by customer based on customer credit history

· Continuously monitor customers' credit accounts to ensure continued credit worthiness, identify potential risks and/or recommend appropriate extension of credit & credit limits for new & existing accounts

· Work with sales, finance, and other internal teams to ensure alignment on credit policies and procedures

  • Assists plant & sales personnel with collections. Facilitate resolution of collection issues, such as discrepancies, reconcile disputes, short payments, and answer customer inquiries about statements or invoices. Includes controlling above-average volume of phone calls and emails from Sales, Plant Personnel, and customers regarding credit & collections issues. Generate customer statements on request.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in Credit/Collections or relevant experience
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Proficient skills in MS Office Suite
  • Commitment to excellent customer service
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work flexibly to meet changing priorities

· Strong analytical skills and the ability to work strategically with other departments

· Proficient knowledge of basic bookkeeping

· Ability to resolve collection issues, billing discrepancies and account disputes while preserving customer relationships

· Ability to collaborate with sales team on identifying and resolving collections issues

· Must be able to work and cooperate as part of a team.

· Ability to work in an environment with rapidly changing priorities, manage multiple tasks meet deadlines

· Knowledge of Linux operating system a plus, but not required
