Duties
- Assist patients with personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
- Provide catheter care and assist with other medical needs as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Observe and report changes in patients' conditions or behaviors to the appropriate medical staff.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care activities.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to patients, promoting their mental well-being.
- Assist with mobility and transportation for patients as needed.
- Support hospice care initiatives by providing compassionate end-of-life care when required.
- Collaborate with family members and healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive home community care.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in home care or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and basic healthcare practices is essential.
- Ability to perform patient observation effectively, recognizing signs that require attention.
- Knowledge of meal preparation techniques that cater to specific dietary needs is advantageous.
- Experience with catheter care is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided as needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
