Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Chess Instructor to join our team for the upcoming summer camp season. As the instructor, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, fun, and educational environment for campers. You will be responsible for leading activities, providing guidance, and ensuring that all campers have an enjoyable experience while developing new skills and friendships.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage with campers during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Plan and lead educational and recreational activities that promote teamwork, creativity, and personal growth.
• Communicate effectively with campers and families to foster a supportive atmosphere and encourage participation.
• Educate campers in the game of chess through hands-on experiences and interactive learning opportunities.
• Assist in managing group dynamics, addressing conflicts, and promoting positive behavior among campers.
• Maintain a clean and organized environment, ensuring that all equipment is safe for use.
• Collaborate with fellow counselors to develop camp programs that meet the needs of all participants.

Experience

• Previous experience in childcare or working with children in a classroom setting is preferred.
• Strong knowledge in teaching the game of chess to all levels essential.
• Strong classroom management skills to effectively lead groups of children.
• Experience working with students in educational settings or tutoring environments is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with both campers and fellow staff members effectively.

Pay: $1,000.00 - $1,200.00 per week
