Job summary
Are you tired of doing repetitive work? Ready to be challenged every day and take your machining skills to the next level? Then you might be a great fit for our open Machinist Programmer I position. This position will operate, create programs in MasterCam, and tend Datron Mill and / or CNC Mill and Lathe machines and be able to perform basic machine maintenance. Previous successful employees have had a strong mechanical background and a very high attention to detail.
Responsibilities / daily tasks
- Read work orders to determine specifications of a project
- Be able to find effective solutions based on root causes
- Run machines according to printed procedures
- Must have the ability to learn new processes and techniques
- Position, align, and secure workpieces against fixtures or stops on machine beds
- Start machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data
- Measure completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications using micrometers, gauges and calipers, CMM, and optical measuring equipment (Keyence)
- Examine completed work pieces for defects
- Maintain, clean, and lubricate machines
- Other duties that may be assigned
- Comply with OSHA and company safety rules
Qualifications
Relation of the position to others in the company
This position is considered an entry level Machine programmer position. Looking for a person to be part of team to help support operation to ensure maximum production performance. This requires an ability to adapt to changing work priorities and successfully overcoming machining obstacles.
Machining area is clean, well-ventilated, and air conditioned. Management will provide all necessary tools and equipment. Some projects will require use of safety equipment such as, but not limited to, protective eye wear.
Employee benefits include health insurance, paid time off for vacation, sick days and 10 paid holidays. The work schedule is 7 : 00am – 4 : 30pm M-Th and 7 : 00am to 11 : 00am on Fridays. Occasional overtime is expected. Compensation will be discussed during the interview and depends on experience.
